Power Outages, Trees Down in DeKalb, Lauderdale, Madison & Limestone Counties (Photos)

TENNESSEE VALLEY, (WHNT) – High winds produced late Thursday and early Friday by the severe storm system knocked down trees and utility poles in several parts of the Tennessee Valley.

DEKALB COUNTY- Two apartment complexes near Gault Avenue and 55th Street were damaged, along with a recycling business on Gault.

Two people were injured and taken to the hospital.  We understand 25-30 people are displaced at Mountain View Apartments.

Crews have been working through the night at both locations.  Read more on the situation in Fort Payne and watch videos.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY-  Lauderdale County EMA Director George Grabryan says the strong winds blew the roofs off of two houses on County Road 86 in Anderson. In one of the houses, a mother and her 8-year-old child were injured with lacerations to their bodies. Both child and mother were taken to Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence.
