What is the most compressed file ever?

Best of Quora

There is a zip bomb called 42.zip
The file is 42.374 bytes when zipped,
and 4.503.599.626.321.920 bytes (4.5 petabytes) when unzipped

That is 4.19 Million Gigabytes compressed in just a 42 kilobyte file.

The file contains 16 zipped files, which again contains 16 zipped files, which again contains 16 zipped files, which again contains 16 zipped, which again contains 16 zipped files, which contain 1 file, with the size of 4.3GB.

Ok, now if you thought that was crazy, check this file out that has infinite compression level called Droste. Since the file never ends uncompressing itself: only 28kb (well, size shouldn’t matter since it is not finite the size of the uncompressed file)
